KMOM

So I started the day at 2am when I woke up for no reason whatsoever. I guess my body was too afraid it would not wake up to the alarm clock set at 3am. That's right, and no, I'm not crazy. I went to volunteer as a nurse at KMOM today-Kansas Mission of Mercy which is a free dental clinic where they provide tons of services to patients who are underinsured or uninsured. Such great people to work with! You can follow them on facebook and see all the updates and stats from yesterday and today. I am truly blessed to have been a small part of it all.
You are probably thinking that has nothing to do with my pregnancy. You are totally correct. Since that's what took up a majority of my day, I figured I would share it with you. Not sure where it will be held next year, but I will definitely be signing up to help again.
Baby news-here's what it says on my week-by-week/day-by-day calendar:
Baby's heart begins to beat, although only visible through ultrasound
The nose, mouth, and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute -- almost twice as fast as yours -- and blood is beginning to course through his body. His intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. His pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of his brain, muscles, and bones. Right now, your baby is a quarter of an inch long, about the size of a lentil bean
Hope you all have a splendid day. I will be sleeping. =)

Also...It's Minnie's birthday today. She turns 7! I can't believe it. She loves it though because she gets extra scooby snacks! =)
